consultingtools was launched on 23 February 2001 as an independent company providing products and services for consultants and business professionals who work with individuals, teams and organizations.

consultingtools has evolved from foundations laid by Ward Dutton Products Limited (UK) and Advanced Teamware, Inc. (USA).

Ward Dutton Products Limited was formed in April 1996 as a spin off from Ward Dutton Partnership. Ward Dutton Partnership was a Management Consultancy company specialising in people, process, and organizational development founded by Peter Ward and John Dutton in April 1992.

Advanced Teamware, Inc was established in 1992 as a consultancy company that developed a number of tools and provided processing services. Advanced Teamware, Inc. merged with Ward Dutton Products Ltd (UK) in 1997.
